Telephone Interviews

Find out about how telephone interviews work and how to get the most out of them.

Although Sheppey College's building may be temporarily closed, we are still open!

We are accepting applications for all our courses, meaning your future education will be disrupted as little as possible. We are currently working hard to ensure all of our students and applicants receive a great service and are confident about their choice to continue their education.

We have created the opportunity for applicants to recieve their interviews via telephone after making their application online.

To do this, select the 'Pathways' tab on our website and then click on the one you wish to apply for.

(Remember, you can apply for up to 3 different pathways!)

On the page of your chosen pathway, you will see an 'Apply' button at the bottom of the page. Click this and it will direct you to our Enterprise system.

After filling in your details, you will be given the option to choose an interview date that suits you.

Once you have chosen this date and completed your application, you can sit back and wait for us to contact you!

During this time, we understand it may be daunting to apply for a College you may have never seen, this is why we have created a virtual tour for you to view on our website - you can view all of our facilities here and get a feel for College life.

The Interview

It is important that you get all of the information you need from the interview, so make sure you ask questions about your course, anything you feel unsure about, and about the College.

During your interview, you will be able to find out information about:

  • Your chosen pathway
  • Work Experience
  • Uniforms
  • Funding
  • Timetabling
  • Coursework/ Exams
  • College facilities
  • Students' Union
  • Trips and Guest Speakers
  • Community Week
  • Opportunities after completion of your course

During your telephone interview, tutors will want to speak with you about yourself, your goals and ambitions. The aim of an interview is for the tutor to get to know you better and make sure you are applying for the pathway which is right for you.

It is normal to feel nervous before an interview, but rest assured - our tutors are friendly and happy to help and answer any questions you may have!
