This exciting Dragon’s Den style competition allowed students the chance to contribute to improving their local community, and offered them the opportunity to enhance their employability skills. Students created a business plan, presentation and stall which displayed the promotional materials created to showcase their business ideas.
The judges comprised of Gordon Henderson - local MP, Steve Cox - Keel Toys Sales Director, Patrick Cantellow - Award Winning Social Ambassador and Young Social Entrepreneur, Paul Anderson – 6S Global Group Operations Director and Nigel Martin - Chief Executive Officer Sheppey Matters & Sheppey HLC.
The winning team ‘Skates ‘n’ Shakes’ were awarded The Swale Enterprise Trophy, along with a tour of the House of Commons followed by tea on the terrace with local MP Gordon Henderson.
The winning team: Kyla Clarke, Shannon Dewey, Ethan Fosbeary, Lily O’Bray and Keeley Smith.
The business students are now preparing for their next event Shepfest which will be held at Sheppey College, 2nd May from 11am in support of Swale Pride!
