Community Week November 2019

18th - 22nd November 2019 During Community Week, we encourage all of our students to get involved in a range of activities such as volunteering and fundraising for charities, to make a difference in our local community. Here are some of the things our students have been up to this week:

Public Services

Our Public Services students were fundraising for the Royal British Legion in the lead up to Rememberance Day by selling poppy products in Tesco and hosting a cake sale in the College.

Hairdressing

The Hairdressing department partnered with Queenborough Primary Shool, their students got the chance to visit our commercial Salon and get a taste for what the Hairdressing industry is like via workshops with our Hair students.

Our Hair students visited Rose Street school's coffee morning and demonstrated hair plaiting and updos with parents for their children.

Computing

ICT students visited our Into Work Site in Eastchurch to create a 360 degree Virtual Reality tour of the site for to use for potential stakeholders.

Health & Social Care

Health & Social Care students visited Age UK Sheppey as part of their community week and spent time with residents, spreading festive cheer.

Health & Social Care Level 2 students collected and donated to Sheppey Gateway - blankets, warm clothing and tins of food as part of the 12 days of Christmas Family Food Bank appeal.

Early Years

During November community week, Early Years students got involved in a local campaign 'Sheppey Rocks' with children in local nurseries and schools.
