KFE Skills Competition

Students from across EKC Group achieved success when Kent’s colleges came together for the inaugural KFE Skills Competition.

The competition brought 200 students from KFE’s partner colleges together to go head to head in 26 industry-based competitions. Skills competitions challenge students to showcase their technical ability against peers, helping them to develop and giving them the opportunity to practice under pressure and against the clock.

Students from across the Group’s family of five Colleges in Broadstairs, Canterbury, Dover, Folkestone and Sheppey had a number of successes throughout the day, with a whopping haul of 16 Gold medals alongside 16 Silver medals and three Bronze medals. The incredible haul showcases the effort and passion from students and curriculum staff, and highlights the high quality skills being developed by learners.

This year was the first time all of the different sector competitions were held on a single day in a single location. The Group’s Canterbury College played host to all of the competitions, with curriculum teams and support staff ensuring the day was a great success. The competition was organised by KFE, and supported by a number of partners including City & Guilds and media partner KM Media Group.
