Budding artists from our Colleges in Broadstairs and Canterbury, and The Dreamland Heritage Trust, have joined forces to create a powerful two-week exhibition at leading local art gallery, Pie Factory Margate.
The exhibition titled, ‘Nowadays’, sees work from students studying with the Creative Industries department at Broadstairs College and the Canterbury School of Visual Arts (CSVA) at Canterbury College, explore the theme of ‘Margate NOW’.
Head of Visual Arts at Canterbury College, Ben Kidger, commented: “We are excited to announce our first exhibition of the academic year in collaboration with the Creative Industries department at Broadstairs College.
“Our students have responded to the theme by considering Margate as a particular place and what it means to them, pulling aspects of its rich cultural identity and how a young audience engages with it.”
The exhibition is part of the Margate Festival and includes a variety of artwork showcasing the students’ skills in mediums such as photography, illustration, graphic design, printmaking and painting.
‘Nowadays’ is available to view until Sunday 11 October. For more information about the exhibition and to view the opening times, visit the Margate Festival website.
