Advice for Students

During the current coronavirus pandemic, we will provide updated advice and guidance for students on this page.

In line with the Government guidance, all of our Colleges will be reopening from 8 March.

All students should have now received a letter outlining what to expect when they return, and also highlighting our Lateral Flow Testing programme. We are encouraging learners to get tested when they have the opportunity to do so. We have also created the video below to show all students what the procedures are when coming to College. Please ensure you watch this to the end, as there are a number of important instructions to follow.

All of the Group’s Nursery Provision continues to remain open as normal.

We have also created a flowchart to help understand what to do if you or your child/young person tests positive or has had close contact with somebody who has Covid-19.  The flowchart details when students should not attend college and who to contact if a student has a positive test result.

Special Note – External Examinations:

EKC Group welcomes the statement by the Government on 5 January 2021 regarding external examinations that have already been planned for January. We believe that we are able to offer these examinations safely and the overwhelming feedback from students is that they would like the opportunity to sit their examinations.

Therefore, we will continue to offer the examinations as planned. It will be an individual students choice as to whether they wish to sit the examination. For those who choose not to sit the examination(s), we will do everything to ensure that future opportunities for sitting the examination are made available. Alternatively, the Government may offer different forms of assessment. At this time we do not know what any alternatives will be but will communicate them as soon as we know.
