Annual Careers Programme 22-23

Summary of the sessions offered and timetable for the careers programme plan.

As the parent of a current student, we want you to be able to have discussions with your child about their future career and have provisions in place to help you do so.

These include:

  • Access to details of your child’s careers appointments on our Parent Portal - you will receive details about the parent portal when your child starts with the college.
  • Speaking to your child’s tutor at parents evening - these are arranged throughout the year - and tutors can be contacted via their email at other times.

For parents who have children applying to university after they finish college, UCAS has a wealth of resources available on their website. You can find out more by clicking here UCAS – Advice for Parents and Guardians.

If your child is interested in progressing onto an apprenticeship after college and you want to know more, the Amazing Apprenticeships website has a pack with information for parents, click here for more information.

Not Going to Uni is also a great website for both parents and their children to use together. This is a link to the Parents Page where you can find links to some really interesting resources.

Don't forget, current students can access the Careers page on the college Moodle site where they will find further information and advice and resources such as CV templates and interview tips. Details on how they can book a guidance session and where to find the careers office is also on there.

Please email our Careers and Employer Engagement Officer if you have any further questions on the above via: Molly.Smith@ekcgroup.ac.uk

At Folkestone College we are always keen to work with local employers and organisations. Our dedicated Industry Liaison Officers work with local employers to find suitable students to undertake work experience with them. We are also keen to hear from any employers who:

  • Would like to join in with our annual Career Fairs
  • Would be willing to be a guest speaker
  • Would be happy to join in as an interviewer for our mock interviews
  • Are looking to share details of full or part-time vacancies with our students
