Local College Boards are an integral part of EKC Group Governance Structure. These ensure our Colleges connect and deliver more fully for their localities, firmly embedding them within the community.
The key purpose of the Local Board is to:
- ensure accountability at a local college level and engage with stakeholders, staff and students respectively.
- provide assurance in respect to quality of provision, achievement and progress of learners within the local College setting.
- provide an opportunity for the College and stakeholders to discuss the current and future skills needs.
- provide support and challenge to the College Senior Leadership Team.
The Local Board meets on a structured basis. Members consist of volunteers drawn from the local district, staff representatives, student representatives and one Governor from EKC Group Governing Body who acts in the capacity of Chair.
