Lecturer scoops two accolades at Kent Teacher Awards

Tim, who is Programme Director for Higher Education Computing at Broadstairs Campus, took home both ICT Teacher of the Year – Thanet District, as well as Overall Kent ICT Champion of the Year.

Group Deputy Principal and Deputy Chief Executive, EKC Group, Anne Leese said: “I am absolutely delighted that Tim’s excellence in his field has been deservedly recognised. Tim has been an outstanding teacher for many years and pivotal to the success of hundreds of students over his time at Broadstairs College. With endless enthusiasm for his subject and the ability to make learning innovative, fun and industry relevant, I know Tim’s students will be as delighted as I am at his great achievement.”

The annual awards, organised by the KM Charity Team and sponsored by Kent Further Education, celebrate the contribution that teaching staff make to the community. This year they were hosted at the Mecure Maidstone Great Danes hotel on Friday 18 May.

Tim explained: “It was a really enjoyable evening that recognised the skills and passion of teachers across the county. I was very proud to represent the College”.
